This sooner people make this realization the happier their lives will be, but that is to go against the grain of what our culture views as ‘success’. Such a thought provoking piece. I’ve lived in Japan and they do a lot of things right in their culture it’s unfortunate to see how much of the western influence has changed that though.

"Ambition should always serve contentment." That line reframes the whole conversation. Most people treat ambition as the destination when it was always supposed to be the vehicle. The paradox you opened with is one of the most honest descriptions of modern life I've read in a while.
